Keeping the Spotlight on Dino 🐾
While we celebrate this holiday, we'd also like to introduce you to one very special dog who reminds us why our mission matters.
Dino has spent more than 1,000 days waiting for a family at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter.
When Dino first arrived on a cold January evening, he was frightened, overwhelmed, and unsure of the world around him. Nervous and shy, he found comfort hiding beneath a blanket in the back of his kennel. While no one knows exactly what his life was like before arriving at the shelter, it's clear he hasn't always experienced the kindness he deserves.
Thanks to the patience and compassion of the shelter staff and volunteers, Dino has slowly begun to trust the people around him. Beneath his cautious nature is a gentle soul simply waiting for someone to give him a chance.
Dino would do best in an experienced, adult-only home where he can continue to build confidence at his own pace. He may take a little extra time to open his heart, but those who know him believe he is absolutely worth the patience and love it will take.
